2024 Debating Season

The McClelland Debating Teams have kicked off this year's Debating Season with remarkable success. Both the Year 9 and Year 10 teams have competed in four rounds so far, with only one round remaining in Term 3. Our students have engaged in debates with various schools across the Mount Eliza Region, earning commendations from multiple adjudicators for their research, methodology, and content.

Year 9 Team Achievements

• Currently in 5th place on the Mount Eliza Ladder for D Grade
• Team members: Bella Jenkins, Jennifer Lamb, Pippa Moss, and Asher Thomas
• Growing from being unable to make the time limits in Round 1, to winning against the previously undefeated team at the top of the ladder in Round 3

Year 10 Team Achievements

• Currently in 1st place on the Mount Eliza Ladder for C Grade
• Team members: Charlotte Doyle, Makayla Doyle, Daniel Trott, and Lia Velissaris
• Lia Velissaris was named Best Speaker in her Round 2 debate.
