If you have free time during the school holiday, why don’t you enter the art competition? 

This annual event is hosted by Glen Eira Youth Services Youth Events and Leadership Team and will be held at the Glen Eira Town Hall Gallery.

 

Submissions

  • Open Monday 3 June at 9am
  • Close Friday 16 August at 5pm

Submit your artwork

  • Entrants must, live, work or study within the city of Glen Eira.
  • Complete the registration form, a picture of your artwork must be uploaded at the same time.
  • Please note a digital copy of your artwork will be used in the digital upload of the exhibition on Instagram.
  • Entries must be submitted by 5pm Friday 16 August.
  • Once you have submitted your online submission form, you will receive an email with details on how to drop off your artwork at the Glen Eira Town Hall Gallery (please note artwork will need to be collected from this location at the end of the exhibition).
  • All details must be completed in the registration form.
  • Entrants under the age of 18 must obtain their parents or guardians’ consent.
  • You must receive consent from all people featured in photographs for the image to be displayed in this exhibition and published online through Council’s website and social media platforms.

News from Term 2 Performing Arts classes

 

Prep students explored different dance moves, learnt to listen to the music and dance to the beat. Students also enjoyed recognising, writing and creating simple rhythms! 

 

Year 1/2 students did a variety of activities in Dance, using different equipment such as a scarf and sticks. They learnt to make shapes and formations using their body and created short dance routine with a group. Students also enjoyed creating simple rhythms. 

 

Year 3/4 students worked on a dance project with a group. Each group learnt to listen to different types of music and dance to the beat. They also touched dance around the world and had some experience different style of dance, including aboriginal dance. 

Year 5/6 students also worked on a dance project with a group. Each group came up with a theme and tried to express it in the dance. They also learnt to effectively use all four elements of dance, Body, Energy, Space and Timing.
