Can you believe we are halfway through the year!? This edition of the Newsletter is representative of just how busy the term has been. Well done to our students for their motivation and working with their teachers to be the best version of themselves. I have seen a positive shift in behaviours around pride and respect for themselves, peers and the college environment. Thank you.

This happens a lot at Mount Eliza Secondary College, and being a mid-size college, we rely on it and are grateful for it. I would like to acknowledge all of the staff, parents, carers and students that go above and beyond to support the growth of our school for our students. In an era of ‘BUSY’ it is so easy to be caught up in the daily grind and before we know it, it’s June! It is sometimes a dangerous activity to name individuals, but I am going to name a few groups of people that I have been involved with this term. If I do forget someone, please email me to let me know so I can give them a SHOUT OUT next Newsletter.

  • To all of the staff and families, led by Marcia Claringbold, that have participated in working bees.
  • Businesses that have been generous with resources
  • Marcia Claringbold for writing submissions for Grants
  • The SPP Design Tech students, led by Mrs Holderness, for their seating area at the front of the school and the revamp of our Lone Pine
  • Staff, families and past students supporting the upcoming Production.
  • Parents of HPV- committed to keeping the program alive.
  • President, Janelle Curry and the Family and Friends for their continued support and fundraising events
  • President Stephen Baker and the College Council for their commitment and time
  • Students that represent the college outside of school hours in sport
  • Bendigo Bank, Lions Club and Rotary for supporting our students in experience or with funds.
  • Volunteer Chris- who comes in each week to work with our Maintenance Team

It really does take a community to support a school and all of the young people within it to be HAPPY SMART PREPARED!
