Harmony Week is celebration held annually in March across Australia and at the College we celebrated this Friday 22/3. Harmony Week is aimed at promoting diversity, respect and inclusiveness. This event is an excellent opportunity to teach children about different cultures, traditions and customs. The goal is to encourage everyone to appreciate and celebrate differences and promote a sense of community and belonging for everyone.
During Harmony Week, there are a number of events and activities held to bring people from different cultures together. These activities include multicultural food festivals, cultural performances, art exhibitions and workshops. Participating in these events helps children to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the diverse communities that make up Australia.
As a parent, you can engage your children and adolescents in discussions about multiculturalism and encouraging them to ask questions. Promoting a more harmonious and inclusive society, can help children grow up with a greater appreciation for the richness and diversity of Australia's cultural landscape. School TV has a special report on Harmony Week which you can access here.
As always, if you have any specific concerns about your child or young person, please contact your daughter’s Classroom Teacher, or Assistant Principal: Head of Junior School in the Junior School, or the relevant Leader of Student Wellbeing and Academic Care, or Mentor/Subject Teacher in the Senior School. You can also contact the Psychological Service.

Year 8 and 9 SEAD
In Ms Martin's Year 8 Design and Technology class, we have been working on Computer-Aided Design to design 3D Puzzles.
We learnt to use different functions on the website Onshape, where we could design models. The designing process was so fun, and we could also develop our understanding, problem-solving skills and creativity. Our recent project is to create a 3D puzzle that we get to 3D print! There are so many creative ideas like ice-cream puzzles, Vegemite jars, cats, dragons and burgers puzzles. We can't wait to print them!

Year 8
In Year 8 SEAD, we have been learning about Ubuntu. I think that Ubuntu is the philosophical belief that people are shaped by their relationships with friends, family, and themselves. Learning about Ubuntu has expanded our knowledge and taught us about a different perspective on the world and our relationships with others. I chose to showcase my world in an Ubuntu environment of showing my universe with 4 planets representing each different section of my life and the people I share it with. Each planet is connected to demonstrate that each part of a person’s life is important and equally makes up an individual.

Boarding Life
The Boarders took an excursion to Bounce, where they spent the day leaping and flipping on the trampolines. This outing wasn't just about acrobatics; it was an opportunity for team building and bonding. Moments like these remind us that the best memories are made when we come together as a team, embracing the thrill of adventure and the joy of camaraderie.
