Hello, from Carolyn.

Respect, responsibility and kindness

Hello everyone,

Welcome back for term 2. I hope the holidays went well for you and your family.

All our students settled smoothly back in to their classrooms, a big pat on the back to our students for returning to school with great 'ready to learn' attitudes, to you all for supporting your children to be at school on time, and to all our staff for having classrooms ready and routines & expectations in place from day one. All these things support our students to feel safe and supported and ready to achieve their best.

Schools Upgrade grant.

If you have been a member of our school community for a few years, you will know that the roof on our red brick building leaks, in many places! Lots of patching up has happened over the years and nothing seems to be very successful or last for long.

Last term I applied for an Australian Government schools upgrade grant to repair the roof, and we received a notification this week that our grant application has been successful! Hooray!! Fingers and toes crossed that this grant ensures our roof is repaired and leak free for MANY years to come!

Coffee and a chat.

Last term, we held a coffee and a catch up to welcome new families to our school. Our aim is to have a casual catch up each term as a way of building connections with each other.

Our first catch up this term is on Thursday 2nd May. The coffee van will be out the front of the school, Webster St, at 8:30am. Simply place your order (We're paying!), grab your drink, then come on in to the library for our catch up and to learn more about the School Wide Positive Behaviour program we have begun implementing at our school.

Sunsmart Hats.

Our students are still required to wear their school sunsmart hats. Hats must be worn while the UV rating is 3 or higher. Please make sure your child's hat is in good repair and clean, and at school each day. Student's without sunsmart hats will be asked to play in the library or downstairs under the covered walkway.

Epsom Bunnings BBQ.

We have our Parents & Friends BBQ fundraiser on Sunday 21April at Epsom Bunnings. Please get along if you can and buy a snag or two to support our fundraiser.

Chicken pox.

We have had a small number of chicken pox cases reported to us. If you would like to know more about chicken pox, symptoms and how long your child needs to stay away from school, please go to https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/health/conditionsandtreatments/chickenpox
