Mission & Faith Life

Alleluia! He is Risen!

We are currently in the Liturgical Season of Easter.

“At Easter, we rejoice in the empty tomb—Jesus’s resurrection. Easter is the day Jesus rose from the dead after being crucified.

The empty tomb means that Jesus’s words rang true. He fulfilled the promises of Scripture and conquered sin and death.

Had Jesus not risen from the dead, the world would have seen Him as just a prophet or teacher instead of who he is: the Son of God, the Messiah.

Jesus overcoming death is the reason we know His name today. It’s the foundation of all Christianity. With His death and resurrection, Jesus opened heaven to all of us. Because of Easter, we know that no matter what sufferings we experience or what sins we struggle with, God is always with us.”   ~ Hallow.com

Easter Prayer

Holy Father,

in this season of renewal,

we pray in thanksgiving for the many blessings You give us.

May our words and deeds today, and always,

serve as reminders of the transformative power of Your love.

Amen.

Thank You - Project Compassion

Thank you to our wonderful students, staff and families for supporting Project Compassion this Lent with our Shrove Tuesday Pancake donations and Crazy Hair Day donations.

REMINDER: Please return your family donation boxes to your child’s Learning Space Teacher or PCG Teacher, or directly to Student Administration by Term 2 Week 2.

Christian Service Learning

Christian Service Learning has now been launched in the Secondary school. Students in Year 7, Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10 are encouraged to be of service to others in the home, College and local community without receiving any reward for their service.

“Christian Service Learning in Catholic schools is designed to enable students to grow, from a Christian perspective as PEOPLE OF SERVICE. It provides formation that emphasises that LIFE AS A CHRISTIAN IS A LIFE OF SERVICE AND JUSTICE.”

– CEWA Christian Service Framework and Guidelines.

We look forward to seeing our students put their faith into action and promote peace, justice and compassion in our communities through Christian Service Learning.

Pope Francis' Monthly Prayer Intention

In April, we pray for the role of women.

The Holy Father encourages prayers for all women -- that the dignity and immense value of women be recognised in every culture, and for the end of discrimination that they experience in different parts of the world.

Living God,

long ago, faithful women

proclaimed the Good News

of Jesus' resurrection,

and the world was changed forever.

Teach us to keep faith with them,

that our witness may be as bold,

our love as deep,

and our faith as true.

Amen.

Deacon Errol's Ordination

Exciting news! Deacon Errol will receive the Sacrament of Holy Orders to become a priest in April (click here for more information about ordination). The whole Salvado community is welcome to both the Ordination Mass at St Mary’s Cathedral and the Mass of Thanksgiving at St Francis Xavier Parish. Let us all keep Deacon Errol in our prayers during this special time.

Pope Francis' Monthly Prayer Intention

In March, we pray for the new martyrs.

The Holy Father encourages prayers for those who risk their lives for the Gospel in various parts of the world, and inflame the Church with their courage and missionary enthusiasm.
