Sydney Vinnies Brekky Van

The Holy Spirit truly does work in mysterious ways! The rain did not dampen our spirits as we prepared and served breakfast for the homeless on Sunday morning at Prince Alfred Park in Surry Hills. Congratulations to Jaicherry Jeanes Duesterberg on her first Vinnies Brekky Van. She was an absolute star!  If you would like to become involved, please email me direct at lucille.gravina@syd.catholic.edu.au

Kindergarten - Palm Sunday

It was a blessing on Tuesday this week to join Kindergarten to read ‘The Messiah’s Donkey’ to them, by Australian Comedian and children’s book Author - Anthony Salame. We then made palms together in preparation for the Kindergarten interpretation of Palm Sunday which you are all welcome to attend on Monday 25th March, 2024 in the afternoon before pick up.

Year 6 Pope Francis Students - Palm Cross Making

Today our Pope Francis students joined with the OLSH Pope Francis students and OLSH Parishoners to make palm crosses for our Palm Sunday mass celebrations. There are 3000 required for both StMM, OLSH, some Nursing Homes and the Hospitals and we managed to get to 1370, so hopefully the parishoners will make the target by this afternoon. Thank you to Mrs Breen who walked the students to OLSH and assisted with the organisation. What a wonderful collaboration between School and Parish.

Holy Week - The Easter Story

Next week the eldest child in each family will receive a Holy Week Easter Story booklet. As we enter into what I believe is the most revered week in our liturgical calendar, I encourage you to read the story of the Easter Triduum together as a family, and ponder on the questions and statements in the booklet as we commemorate Jesus’ death and celebrate his resurrection.

Mum’s Night - Save the Date!!

The Botany Randwick team of Family Educators have collaborated to bring you a special Mother’s Day Paint ‘n’ Sip event for 2024. More details will follow in the next newsletter including how you can register. For now ‘Save the Date’ Thursday 23rd May, 2024.

Padlet

Here is the link to the St Margaret Mary’s Padlet. This tool is being used and updated regularly with events, initiatives and articles and information of interest. Check it out over a cup of tea or coffee and don’t forget to scroll down to the bottom of each column so that you don’t miss anything.

Wishing all our families a peaceful and Holy Easter. May the wonderful mystery of Christ’s death and resurrection reveal itself to you and your families during this most sacred time in our liturgical year.

Go gently, every blessing

Ms. Lucille Gravina
