Principal's Message
Term 4 - Week 4
Dear Mount Pleasant Road Primary School and Kindergarten community,
After an amazing 13 years teaching and leading in this community, I have decided to retire at the end of the year. It has been an absolute privilege to serve as Principal, and I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible experiences we've shared.
Together, we've faced challenges that have turned into successes. From achieving two successful whole school reviews and receiving the Exceeding nomination for our Kindergarten twice, to witnessing our growth from 140 students in 2012 to 422 in 2024, it’s been a remarkable journey. I'm especially proud of how we’ve become a school of choice for families, complete with brand new, state-of-the-art teaching and learning centers and a creative hub.
I am immensely proud of our students and teachers, and how we collaborate with families to provide high-quality education. I have no doubt that the school is well positioned to continue achieving great outcomes for all our students.
As I prepare for this next chapter, I look forward to seeing how MPRPS&K continues to thrive and build on the strong foundation we have created together.
Thank you for all the support and memories. I will carry MPRPS&K in my heart for years to come.
Warm regards,
Kim

I know MPRPS&K will join me in sending our heartfelt sorrow and thoughts to the staff, students, families and school community at Auburn South Primary School, who are dealing with a horrific tragedy. We hope they are all provided with the support and space needed to grieve this dreadful loss and deal with the impact of the tragedy.
Thank you to Rahima and staff for all of their flexibility, planning and coordinating to get our Junior students moved into the new building and portable. Unfortunately, the Creative Hub is still unavailable but we are hopeful everything will be handed over including our two brand new courts by Term One 2025.
If you haven't had a chance to have a walk through please feel welcome to at pick up times. It is absolutely beautiful and the classes are very settled in their new spaces.
We held our Digital Technology Parent Forum on Wednesday as part of our comprehensive review into Digital Technology, and it was a fantastic opportunity to engage with the parents in our community. We’re excited to consolidate the valuable insights shared and look forward to sharing them with everyone.
Thank you to Erin Bennetts for organising the event, and to Nick and Katrina for their informative presentations on the use of iPads in our school. It was particularly inspiring to hear from both current and former students about the impact the iPad program has had on their learning experiences. We truly appreciate everyone’s contributions to this important discussion.
We want to bring to your attention an important safety concern regarding driving near the school crossing on Eugenia Street. Recently, we have received reports from the crossing supervisor about vehicles passing too closely to the crossing while students and community members are present.
We kindly ask all parents and caregivers to exercise extra caution and prioritize safety when driving around the school. Please remember to:
To reinforce this message, the Forest Hill Police have notified us they will be sending a marked police unit to monitor the area during drop-off and pick-up times. Their presence will serve as a reminder to everyone about the importance of safe driving practices.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school community safe!
A big thank you to Leonie and our amazing parent community for the delicious morning tea in honour of World Teachers' Day. The staff enjoyed the delightful treats and appreciated the thoughtfulness behind the gesture. Your support means so much to us!
