KJ
KJ had a wonderful time at the farm in week 10 of last term.
Since then, we have been tending our sunflowers and carrots, which have grown so well since last term’s planting. We have been learning about force in science, different places in geography, writing recipes and making smoothies.
We are looking forward to lots of activities as we count down to the end of the year. We will soon be in Year 1!
KP
KP have had a great start to Term 4. Everyone is settled and enjoying their last term of kindergarten.
We have been learning about sequencing and the importance of doing things in order. We used recipes as an example of sequencing and made mango smoothies. The students all enjoyed their smoothies and really enjoyed making smoothie moustaches. We celebrated Halloween with skeletons made from cotton buds. The buds turned out to be harder to cut than I originally thought but we got there in the end.
In mathematics we have been learning about 2D shapes and 3D objects.
I am looking forward to the rest of the year, learning and having fun with all the students in KP before they continue their learning journey in Year 1.
1/2M
1/2M have been busy learning about lots of wonderful things! In writing, we have created and published our own fables. We have looked at a character’s feelings, actions and character traits and discussed how these tell us more about a story. We also discussed how authors use figurative language in their stories to make them more interesting. In mathematics, we have been using positional language to find places on maps. We have used Google Earth to find places and create maps based on these. We have also been learning about how materials change if they are heated or cooled, why people visit places and so much more!
We are looking forward to many exciting things coming up towards the end of the year!
1/2B
Only five more weeks left of being together as the 2024 1/2B family. We have learned so many new things this term and been fantastic at connecting new learning with experiences from earlier in the year. In writing, we created our own fables. In Maths, we practised reading bigger numbers… including three and four-digit numbers! In Geography, we realised that most of us are connected to Italy through our love of pizza and pasta. In Science, we have investigated how we can change materials. We were particularly fascinated by glass blowing. In addition to all this fabulous learning, we have found our favourite author - Roald Dahl. Earlier this week, we finished reading the hilarious book ‘The Twits’ and have chosen to start reading ‘The BFG’. Perhaps our review will be in the next newsletter.
We have plenty to look forward to over the next coming weeks and can not wait to share our adventures with you.
1/2D
1/2D has been bustling with activity as we dive into our learning journey! We’ve been exploring “People’s Connections to Places,” examining how distance and accessibility impact how frequently people visit certain locations. In addition, we proudly performed our assembly item during Week 5, and we hope you had a chance to see our performance!
In honour of Remembrance Day, we created heartfelt artwork to pay tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of those who have served our nation. It’s been a truly enriching experience for all of us!
Stage 2 Camp
Carta - 3MM
At camp, my favourite activity was the glider possum. There were other activities like rock climbing, archery, bush walking and an eco-adventure! The food they gave us was really good. On Wednesday night we had marshmallows on the campfire.
Kody – 3MM
At camp my favourite activity was the giant swing. My second favourite was the glider possum. My third was the flying fox! We got to have a campfire with marshmallows and walked through the bush with our torches on Wednesday night. On Thursday night we had a movie night where we took our pillows and lollies to the hall.
Ruby L –3/4B
Year 3 and 4 went on a Stage 2 camp to Wedderburn on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. There was a giant swing, the flying fox, a rock-climbing wall, eco walk, glider possum and archery. There were cabins to sleep in, a campfire to roast marshmallows, a hall for eating and a night walk in the bush. We even saw a koala! It was really fun! The food was really good. We had cereal, pancakes and bacon and eggs for breakfast. For dinner we had nachos and butter chicken! I love Wedderburn campsite!
Sanskrit – 3/4B
Hello, my name is Sanskrit. At Wedderburn camp I did some extreme things. Let me start with Wednesday morning at 9:15am. I gave my bag to one of the teachers and gave a huge hug to my mum and then sat with my friends. The first thing I did was rock climbing and I did the demo for everyone to watch. It was AWESOME. Then I did extremely fun activities the rest of the days and wrapped camp up with a beautiful afternoon with my friends.
Alex – 4/5LM
Hello! I went to Wedderburn camp and it was fun. We always get free time. When we were done we went in our cabins. The next day we had the most activities. The activities were the giant swing and ziplining. I was super scared of the giant swing but now I kind of like it. On the last day we went on the possum glider and it was fun. All of the activities were super fun! You should come to experience the fun too!
Ruby D – 4/5LM
Last week Stage 2 went to Wedderburn camp, it was so fun. We did so many activities like the giant swing. I’ve been to Wedderburn camp before but it was not as much fun as this adventure. I’ve never been on the giant swing before, it was so so scary at first but then it was the best experience of my life! We also did the glider possum and archery. I got my arrow on the target for the first time ever! We went on a night walk and we saw a koala. We also went on an eco-walk and ate a little berry that had the same amount of vitamin C as an orange! We also had a campfire and roasted marshmallows. The movie was so much fun as well.
K/6 Koalas
We are thrilled to announce a generous donation from Jason and Jess at Clenton’s Transport NSW P/L, which has provided our school with four brand-new bicycles and helmets for the students accessing the Special Programs Area (SPA)! This wonderful contribution will allow our students to enjoy the many benefits of cycling, from improving physical fitness to developing confidence and independence in a fun, supportive environment. On behalf of our students, staff, and the entire school community, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Jason and Jess for their kindness and commitment to enriching our school.
