OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

During 2021 DHS participated in Operation Christmas Child for the first time as it was Hayley Cumming and Nathan Hepworth's leadership school project. Since then, the Year 10 Personal Growth have taken this project on. This involved filling shoeboxes with toys, hygiene products, stationery items etc for a girl or boy, from a third world country, aged 2 - 4, 5 - 9 or 10 - 14 years. These boxes are handed out to children at Christmas time, with children only receiving 1 box in their lifetime.

We were thrilled with the response to this project, with 40 shoeboxes being delivered to Horsham on Friday 11th of October. Thank-you to all the students, families, staff and community members who donated items towards these shoeboxes or cash towards the $12.50 shipping fee per box. It really is a fantastic effort and something our school is immensely proud to participate in each year.
