The Science Department Welcomes the Scanning Electron Microscope!

We are thrilled to announce that Horsham College Science classes have the incredible opportunity to work with a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) currently on loan from the Gene Technology Access Centre (GTAC) in Parkville. This state-of-the-art device allows us to view specimens at up to 3000 times their actual size, giving students and staff an extraordinary view into the microscopic world.

Our science classes have already begun exploring everyday objects and biological specimens in stunning detail, bringing science concepts to life like never before. The SEM is offering students unique insights into the structure and composition of materials, enhancing their learning experience in an exciting and practical way.

A big thank you to our lab technician, Jodie, for coordinating the loan and ensuring this remarkable piece of technology is available for our students. We are extremely grateful for the access and look forward to continuing our discoveries!
