Congratulations to our students who represented Horsham College at the 2024 State Athletic Championships in Melbourne.

We had 11 students qualify to compete and nine who made the long journey to Melbourne.

Asha M ran the 400m in a time of 1.04.10 which was only 0.26 of a second off third place well done Asha on achieving 5th best in the state in an event that is you do not spend much time on, an amazing effort well done.

The Under 13 girls relay team of Ruby B, Neeve R, Gretel B and Jemma H teamed up to represent HC in the 4 x 100m relay, the girls came 7th overall in a time of 58.23 less than a second and a half-separated 4th to 7th well done girls.

The Under 16 Boys teams of Lenix N, Harry H, Nash M and Remi B also ran an exceptional relay time of 49.44 which was nearly a second quicker than what they ran in Ballarat to qualify, well done boys on your 8th placing you all ran an exceptional race.

Well done to each and every HC Student it is an amazing effort to travel 8 hours in a vehicle to compete in an event.

A huge thanks must go to Nadine for volunteering to travel with me in the bus and to the parents who took their children without your support our students would not of got the opportunity to experience next level competition.

Cricket

Wednesday 23rd October 14 Year 9 & 10 keen cricketing students assisted Gary Davidson to run the Little Desert Primary School Cricket Blast competition at Dudley Cornel. Students oversaw an oval and it was their responsibility to umpire and score each game.

Well, done to every student who attended this volunteer community-based excursion, the feedback from Gary, the staff from all the primary schools who attended, and the parents who were there watching was exceptional.  The entire group did such an amazing job we even had primary students come up to thank us for bringing these students to help.

Well, done boys, you certainly did an amazing job of promoting our school.
