Raise Mentoring Program Graduation
During the last week of Term 3, a group of Year 9 participants in the Raise Mentoring program graduated from their 18-week program, which ran for 1 period every Thursday throughout terms 2 and 3.
During the mentoring session, this select group of Eltham High School students worked individually with their own specially trained volunteer mentor; sharing personal experiences, working through various activities and scenarios, learning personal skills to equip them to cope with life’s challenges.
Feedback from students indicated that the top benefits of the program were:
- Being able to talk to someone
- Increased confidence
- Improved social skills
- Coping strategies
- Feeling safe
- Fun! And 100% said that they would recommend the program to a friend.
This was the first year that Eltham High School has run the Raise Program at the school, and an evaluation and feedback process is currently being undertaken.
Any feedback or inquiries can be directed to Flis or Anna in Student Services (Wellbeing) anna.jenkins@education.vic.gov.au.
