VOCABULARY

Estimate: An educated guess or an approximate calculation of something, like how much something will cost, how long something will take, or how many of something there are. It’s not exact, but it's based on available information or experience.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Practice estimating by guessing the number of objects in a pile, the length of various household items, or how long a task will take (like cleaning up). After making their guesses, measure or time the actual amounts to see how close they were.
