Principal's Report
Dear Parents,
Working Bee
We are holding a working bee on Saturday, 19th October 9:00 to 11:30 am, to complete a number of maintenance tasks around the school in preparation for the summer period. This working bee is for the parents of students in Hume and Mitchell houses.
Your help will make a big difference in getting the school ready for the warmer months ahead. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you there!
Daggy Disco
We’re excited to invite you to our Parent’s and Friend’s Association Fundraiser on Friday, 25th October – the Daggy Disco! It promises to be a fun-filled night, so dust off your best (or worst!) dance moves, dress in your daggiest outfit, and come along to join in the fun. It’s a great opportunity to connect with the school community and support a wonderful cause.
Book your tickets NOW using the following link https://www.trybooking.com/CWGHS
We look forward to seeing you there!
5/6 Camp
We wish our Grade 5/6 students all the best as they head off to Camp Howqua next week! The students are incredibly excited for the fantastic outdoor adventure activities that await them. It’s sure to be an unforgettable experience.
A big thank you to Anthony and Georgia for all the hard work and time they’ve put into organizing such an amazing camp. We’re sure the students will have an incredible time and come back with lots of wonderful memories!
Children’s Week
Children's Week is a national celebration. It recognises the talents, skills, achievements and rights of children. The event takes place in October every year, with thousands of Victorian children taking part in the festivities.
Children’s Week 2024 will be held between Saturday 19 October to Sunday 27 October 2024.
The theme for Children’s Week 2024 is: “Children have the right to a clean and safe environment”.
Local councils, not-for-profit organisations, schools and early childhood services organise a variety of events during Children's Week. These include open days, displays, special events, virtual spaces and online-based activities. The events celebrate childhood and showcase children's achievements.
Sunsmart
We would like to remind everyone that our SunSmart period has officially started. As part of our commitment to keeping our students safe from harmful UV exposure, all students are now required to wear a sun-protective hat when they are outdoors.

Bike Shed Project Underway!
We’re excited to announce that we are currently cleaning up the sheds on the basketball court to create a new bike shed where students can securely lock their bikes during the day. On Monday, we made great progress by cleaning out one of the sheds and placing all the rubbish into a skip.
A huge thank you to Macedon Ranges Skips for generously providing the skip – it was invaluable in helping us clear out the space!
We’re aiming to have the project completed by the end of the year and look forward to unveiling the new bike shed soon!
Warm regards,
Andrew Bloomfield
