Acting Principal's Message
Dear Families,
We hope you all enjoyed the long weekend over the Melbourne Cup holiday. It was a good chance for everyone to enjoy some sunshine and refresh before the rest of the busy Term 4!
We welcomed our 2025 Prep students and parents for the second time this week. It was wonderful to welcome new families and exisiting families to our beautiful school. A special thank you to Jennifer Wilson and her amazing OSHC team and Megan Champion (P&F president) for presenting to the parents about what you do for our school.
I want to congratulate Darwell B in Year 5 for his enormous athletic achievement! He won second place at the state Athletics in the field of Shotput, throwing 12.75!! Well done Darwell for your dedication and hard work, it has all paid of with this amazing achievement!
School Assembly
Tomorrow our new Principal, Mr. Brian Martin will be joining us at our School Assembly.
We warmly invite parents/caregivers to our assembly this Friday, 8th November, starting at 9am.
We look forward to seeing you.
Remembrance Day 2025
Some of our School Leaders will be selling badges and bracelets until Remembrance Day on the 11th of November. The Appeal continues to support Legacy; our veterans and their families in their time of need.
Please note our next School Closure Day is Friday 22nd November
All staff will participate in a First Aid refresher course and planning day for 2025.
There will be no out of school hours care on this day.
Riding and Scooting to School
It is wonderful to see some of our students getting daily exercise by riding or scooting to school. This is often an activity where students meet up with each other on their way to school and travel together, creating a safe and social experience for all.
Upon arrival at school, all riders need to dismount from their bike or scooter and walk into the school grounds. This should happen as you are entering the gates from the footpath.
At dismissal time, all riders must collect their bike or scooter and walk it through the school grounds and out on the footpath. Students should only mount their bikes or scooters away from groups moving during dismissal time.
There should be no riding of bikes or scooters within school grounds at the beginning or end of the school day. This includes parents who ride to school.
If you have a child who rides to school, please have a conversation to ensure these rules are understood and followed. Thank you anticipation.
Zooper Dooper Friday
With Term 4 warning up we welcome back our Friday Zooper Dooper sales!
Children are invited to bring 50 cents to school to purchase a Zooper Dooper on a Friday.
We thank our Year 6 children for volunteering their time to support the sales of the Zooper Doopers. All profits raised from the sales will go to our Kadasig fundraising efforts.
NO U-Turns on Bunney Rd
With the tragic event that has occurred this week, we are reminded to share that there are to be absolutely NO u-turns on Bunney Rd. We will be monitoring this and taking extra precautions to make sure all drivers are following the expected road rules outside our school. Please remember there are lots of young children and families dropping off and picking up around school hours and we all need to think of safety before convenience.
The next Working Bee date
Due to the postponement of last Saturday's Working Bee, we will hold it on Saturday November 30th.
Students not returning in 2025
We believe a few students currently in Year 1-5 who are moving area and will not be attending St. Andrew's in 2025. If you have not informed us please ring and email the school immediately as it effects our planning and enrolment numbers.
