Flexible. Resilient. Positive. 2024

We are powering through Term 3 with a huge variety of activities and events. Senior students participated in the District Athletics, our Foundation students had their Fire Rescue Incursion, students from across the school participated in the Orchestra Workshop at Vermont Primary School, Level 3 and 4 attended the Melbourne Museum, our Level 5 parents attended a Transition Information Session with leadership from Vermont Secondary College and Mullauna College, our P&F Committee ran a wonderful Father's Day stall, our Level 5 and 6 students participated in a Melbourne Metro Train Incursion, senior students competed in the State Badminton finals, our Principal Team attended the Riversdale Principal Network meeting, and today our Level 5 & 6 students are participating in Interschool sports.

In addition to this we have had some Rangeview students achieve some significant sporting success in the past weeks - at the National and the International level. Amanda achieved 3 Golds at Nationals for Diving, Isaac achieved Gold at an International event in Taekwondo, Metisse was in the Australian Champions for Team Victoria Hockey, and Leo was selected for Team Victoria Softball. We congratulate these students on these incredible achievements.

Riversdale Network Principal Day

Liam Kate and I attended the Riversdale Principal Network Day on Thursday this week and  had information shared around the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing - Child Protection and the Orange Door, the Principal's Advisory Service, and NEVR Provision and Planning. We remind families that the Orange Door is a family support service which can help in situations of family violence or with the care and wellbeing of children.

Following the morning sessions, our talented Mathematics Specialist teacher - Rebecca Gordon - presented to the network on the Peter Liljedhal - Building Thinking Classrooms - model that we are now using across the school in our Mathematics Specialist sessions at Rangeview. Peter's work outlines 14 teaching practices that research shows optimizes conditions for students to think, which increases their engagement and learning. It was so wonderful to be showcasing this work as it is cutting edge for our network and we were asked by the executive to present on our model.
