Summer Sport Sign-Ups

As we prepare for the 2024/25 Summer season, which will commence later this term, we will soon be asking students to consult their parents regarding sign-ups for Summer sports.

To streamline the registration process, we will be trialling the sign-up procedure through the Parent Lounge on TASS.

Please note that the Co-curricular year for Years 7 to 12 runs from Term 4 of this year through to the end of Term 3, 2025.

At this time, we are seeking sign-ups for Senior Baseball teams only. If your child is interested in playing Baseball this Summer season, please complete the sign-up via the Parent Lounge by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, 14 August.

Information and sign-ups for Basketball, Cricket, Touch Football, and Swimming will be announced later this month.

Please review the attached "How to Sign Up" guide for detailed instructions which was emailed to all families and published on the SPC App.

Exciting Opportunity: UK and Spain Football Tour 2025

Dear College Football Community,

We are thrilled to share that Dr Lavorato has given conditional approval for an exciting Football Tour to the UK and Spain, set to take place during the 2025 Term 1 holidays (April). This tour will include both Open and Development Squads and is intended to develop and prepare players for the future football seasons.

Tour Details:

  • Destination: UK and Spain
  • Duration: 13 days
  • Dates: 12 April - 25 April 2025
  • Projected Cost: Approximately $9,500 per student.

(Cost includes: Tour gear, airport taxes and fees, entry to various activities/stadium tours, meals, accommodation, and transfers).

We understand that this is a significant financial commitment, and we want to ensure that families are fully informed and able to consider this opportunity without pressure.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria:

Players will be selected based on their performance and commitment to the College’s Football program.

Selection Criteria that will be taken into consideration:

  • Demonstrated good behaviour both academically and on the field.
  • Consistent attendance at training and Saturday fixtures.
  • Positive attitude towards training, willingness to follow coaching instructions, and teamwork.
  • Commitment to continue representing the College in Football while enrolled at St Patrick’s College, if selected. (This is non-negotiable).
  • Active involvement in pre-tour activities.
  • Students must be in Year 9 or above at the start of 2025.

We want to reassure the College community that a student’s unavailability to tour will not affect a player’s chances of being selected in the College’s premier Football teams. There is no obligation or pressure to participate or accept an invitation to tour.

Next Steps:

We are now seeking expressions of interest. Please note that submitting an expression of interest does not financially commit you to the tour. An information evening will be held at the College in late August to provide more details and answer any questions you might have. Our travel agent will also be present to assist with any queries.

To make an expression of interest, please contact the Head of Football, Mr Jason Falzon via email at jason.falzon@spc.nsw.edu.au by 3:00 PM Monday 26 August 2024.

On behalf of Dr Lavorato, I would like to take this opportunity to wish the SPC Football fraternity the best of luck in their endeavours as ventures such as this will no doubt assist the development of Football within the College.
