SPORTS HIGHLIGHTS

NQ All Schools Touch Football Competition

The St Mary's Touch teams performed exceptionally well over the weekend at the recent NQ All Schools Touch tournament. Bailey Thomas was the youngest student selected to attend the NQ All Schools Touch Carnival on the weekend. He showed incredible drive and motivation, keeping up with the rigour of the game.

Zade Rossi, Brin Barbagalo, Dallas Pearce, Charli Francis, and Boston Demas participated in the NQ All Schools Touch Carnival on the weekend. Brin was nominated as the "Player's Player" (the best player chosen by the team). Morghan Nash was unfortunately injured but made the effort to join us on the tour anyway to support her team! Tanna Murphy and Madison Norcott showcased outstanding leadership and communication on the field and set up some excellent tries.

Lara Kristivich and Sienna Francis both played for the Junior Mixed team. Both ladies put in 110% effort and gave everything up to the last minute. Leadership was an excellent quality demonstrated by Lara and Sienna when leading the juniors in their games. James Evans, Riley Flor, Will Pemberton, Jack Maggs, Ella Pearce, and Paityn Oberlueter played for our Senior Open Mixed Team. James Evans was nominated as the "Player's Player" (best player chosen by the team), with outstanding communication witnessed by a player in the wing position.

Lara Lane and Shameah Blanco-Enoch both played in the Senior Mixed Opens Competition. Shameah is the team captain and lead by example with her sportsmanship and leadership skills on the field.

Ollie Van Rees was captain of the Senior Open Mixed Team. He led his team with exceptional sportsmanship, which challenged and supported the players in equal measure throughout the weekend's games.

U13 Junior Rugby League School Competition

The U13 boys played in an interschool competition for Term 3 against Bentley Park College, Trinity Bay State High, and St Augustine’s. The team performed well, considering it was a very young team. Well done to the students below, and thank you to their coaches, Mr Slatcher and Mr Winter & Mr Tutoe.

St Marys Catholic College Cricket Teams

St Mary's Catholic College entered three teams in the cricket gala day against St Andrews in the Inaugural First Followers Cricket Shield. St Andrews won all three games, but we are incredibly proud of our students’ efforts. Students presented with an exceptional attitude and sportsmanship across the day. Our female team was led positively by captain Anisha Sandher and the senior boys Jacob Majer and Kelley Stewart. Deacon Werder and Reid Slatcher had a great partnership in the batting. Congratulations to two of our Junior boys, Luke Garner and Tristan Bartholemew, who stepped up to assist with the senior team.
