Unveiling a tribute
On Tuesday 20 August, we unveiled a monumental tribute at our college.
The statue was of Bob Drysdale (AKA-Lone Pine Bob)
This Lone Pine Tree standing in front of us was the first to be planted in 1998. Bob (aka Lone Pine Bob) was responsible for the planting of this tree (at the front of our college) and numerous other Lone Pine trees in Kyabram and surrounding towns.
We hope that this special memorial helps to educate the younger generation of today, as well as making sure as a collective, we remember them. LEST WE FORGET.
The unveiling was attended by Marina Walsh (College Principal), Gavon Armstrong (Legacy) who was the MC for the event and other Legacy members, RSL and the Drysdale Family including Alwyn (Bob’s wife).
Legacy members Peter Fitzgerald and Don Cook spoke to our college captains regarding what Legacy is and its meaning, the significance of the Lone Pine Tree and how Legacy members look after our Legatee ladies.
The statue was kindly donated by Chaplaincy. Liz Spicer (OAM) also spoke at the event.
We thank Chaplaincy for their very kind donation.
