GET EXCITED FOR BOOKTACULAR 

Celebrate Book Week with us this next week. The annual celebration of everything literacy, books, illustrations and storytelling is a week of excitement for students. This year's theme chosen by the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) is “Reading is Magic.” It will become the focus of our special Book Week event, ‘BOOKTACULAR!’ 

Students from Prep to Year 12 will have the opportunity to participate in a range of activities including live performances, author presentations, workshops, Book Fair, and the Booktacular expo displays. 

The week of fun includes the following. 

The official Booktacular Opening, including the P-12 Book Character Dress Up Day        and parade. 

When: Monday 26 August, 9:10 am - 10:30 am approx. 

Where: Front P-6 Basketball courts (Fischer St) 

Who: All P -12 students are encouraged to attend and we welcome all families to come along. 

Students are to arrive at school as normal. Roles will be marked before classroom teachers accompany students to the location. 

A coffee van and donut van will be onsite for the opening, available to all attendees at your own cost. 

Student sessions: Students will have the opportunity to take part in sessions throughout the week within their classes. These sessions will appear on their Compass timetable. Their classroom teachers are informed and will bring them to these sessions.

Book Fair:

The Scholastic Book Fair also returns during Book Week! We will be open to staff, students, and the school community every lunchtime and after school until 4pm. 

We have such a great book selection available, as well as visiting author texts, a special magical wand shop, library bags, BOOKTACULAR merch and more! 

When: Monday 26 August - Friday 30 August (all week)

Where: The College Resource Library 

Who: all students, staff, parents, and school community.

A reminder that we will be open additionally on Friday 30 August from 8:00 am - 10:00 am for parents and visitors at the Father’s Day Breakfast.
