Week 7!

Wow, it has been a busy term already.  Last week we celebrated ‘Book Week’, and wow there were some pretty incredible costumes, both from staff and students. Our Book Week costume winners were Michael (Room 14) and Massimo (Room 17) who both got into the Harry Potter spirit! I hope you were all able to make your way to JSA Book Fair to see all of the great pieces of literature on offer. I know we had some excited students walking out, ready to purchase their wish list.

IEPs

The goals for Semester 2 IEPs need to be finalised by the end of this term. If you have any questions about writing your students' goals, please don't hesitate to reach out following this week's PLC.

CTM

Please ensure that your CTM minutes are populated with students' learning goals ready for discussion at your meeting. If you'd like me to act as a norm monitor, timekeeper, or note-taker, just let me know. Additionally, following our PLC, think about how you can use your CTMs in Semester 2 to collaborate on updating Student Profiles and discussing progress towards IEP goals.

Production

This weeks tasks include:

  1. Book the Yaluk building for rehearsal time with your students
  2. Continue to practice your production item. Continue working on your backdrop and/or props.
  3. Practice performing in you costumes
  4. Practice using props
  5. Send home a production flyer in students Communication books
  6. Add rehearsal and performance date sticker to students Communication books

Classroom Walls

Some classrooms have been noted to have writing on walls or cupboards using permanent markers, pencils, etc. If this applies to your room, please either clean it yourself or log it on maintenance to be removed. If you wish to record student heights, please use tape and remind students not to write or draw on the walls. Thank you for your support with this.

Excursions

Please ensure that you stay on top of the excursion checklist in advance. Confirm that parental permission has been granted, the activity locator is filed, and that transport and staffing are arranged. I encourage you to touch base with me and the admin team in the weeks leading up to your excursion for additional review and support in planning and coordination.

We have some exciting whole school and sub school excursions planned. These include Inflatable World, anti-bullying incursions, an animal farm, you name it- plenty to get excited about as we head into Term 4.

Term 3 Assemblies

Thank you Rooms 14 & 18. Next up will be Rooms 12, 15 & 16!

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s anything I can assist with.

Kind regards,

Sarah
