MRS MONIQUE WATT: YEAR 11 PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT TEACHER
Our Year 11 Personal Development students have been actively engaged in learning about the importance of community involvement and giving back. On the 2nd of August, the class demonstrated their compassionate spirit by preparing a hearty pumpkin soup. Students worked collaboratively to create individual serving sizes, which were generously donated to the Swan Hill Food Hub. This thoughtful initiative will undoubtedly provide much-needed nourishment to those in need within our community.
In addition to their culinary efforts, students had the privilege of learning from local Indigenous lady, Kenita McCartney. Ms McCartney shared valuable insights into her culture, enriching the student's understanding of her Aboriginal heritage. The class also participated in a weaving workshop, providing a hands-on experience that fostered cultural appreciation and connection.
These experiences have undoubtedly broadened the students' perspectives and inspired them to become active and engaged citizens. We are incredibly proud of their commitment to making a positive impact on our community.
