M3 Cubed - Marvellous Magnificent Minds
On Tuesday the 20th of August, Mrs De Filippis, Tony, Elisha, Michelle L and I went to St Bede’s College in Bentleigh East to participate in a program called MCubed. We were in the group that required us to use Tournament of the Mind skills to be creative and critical thinkers.
Tony and I came the earliest at 8:15am. Michelle L and Elisha came late but that was fine. After waiting for a bit, we headed to the auditorium for an introduction of the day. Dr/Professor Denise Chapman did a beautiful presentation. It was life-changing. So inspiring! We finished the introduction at 9:55. We started the introduction at about 9:00.
Session 1 : 9:30-11:00
We started our first session at 9.30. It was TOM for our session (Tournament of Minds). It was mainly about Creative and Critical Thinking. We got to discuss a variety of stories and got to share stories to our teacher, Geraldine Nicholas. She was very nice and her class was mainly about having fun and being a bit silly as well!😂😂😂
Session 2 : 11:30-1:00
We stayed at the same event for the entire time at M3 Cubed. TOM was good in the second session too but in this session, we did more teamwork Creative and Critical Thinking like: inventing new items for camping, inventing new collective nouns and more! They were all fun!🎉🎉
Session 3 : 1:30-2:00
Our teacher was really using a lot of her efforts and time to make today an extremely fun experience for all of us! Her efforts definitely paid off. In our last session of the day, for just 30 minutes, it certainly wasn’t a bad way to end the day. I thank her for all her efforts and all the effort she has taken to fill our minds with brilliant ideas and information.
Conclusion/Presentations: 2-2:30
A few kids from other classes got an opportunity to present their items that they completed in their classes. They all look very difficult to build and would require a lot of teamwork. They were all very creative and some of them explained what is good and bad for the Earth like Sustainability. All the students presented beautifully! At the end of the presentation, everyone received a certificate for taking part in the program and also a white downball with a logo of St.Bede’s on it and all the teachers also received one too!
