Event Spotlight: Musical

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

School Musical, August 15-17

And that's a wrap!

A MASSIVE congratulations to everyone involved in our school production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. If you attended any of the performances, I'm sure you will agree that it was a credit to the cast, crew and volunteers. Thank you to everyone who invested countless hours on everything from set design, choreography and costumes to set up/pack up, sound and hair & makeup. And a special mention to the director, Mrs Katherine Gunn.

The musical was not without its challenges, including sickness and injuries in the cast and crew, but it was encouraging to see how, with a lot of prayer, everything pulled together for an incredibly successful string of performances.

In fact, you may have noticed that our student stars made the front page of The Examiner newspaper on August 16 (and also page 3)!

It should be noted that the musical soundtrack had some real earworms! The lyrics were heard often in school classes and the playground in the week after.

"Yes, the Candy Man can, 'cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good..."

Here is some of the feedback the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory performances received on social media:

It was an absolutely wonderful show and my younger children found it inspiring. Well done to cast and crew!
