NECOM Gostwyck Beginner Band

The New England Conservatorium of Music (NECOM) is excited to introduce a new opportunity for young aspiring musicians. We are launching the Gostwyck Beginner Band!

We have worked hard to make it as cost effective as possible, whilst maintaining our high standards of learning and musicianship.

There are limited places available in small group lessons for only $100 per term, plus instrument hire. This program will run over Terms 2 & 3 this year, with an opportunity to move into the Tilbuster Wind Ensemble when you have reached an appropriate level! This group consists of students from Years 3-7 who are working on improving their skills and musicianship.

Here are five reasons to play a musical instrument:

1. Cognitive Development: Learning to play an instrument enhances brain functions, improving memory, problem-solving skills, and creativity.

2. Emotional Expression: Playing music provides a powerful outlet for expressing emotions and can boost mental health by reducing stress and anxiety.

3. Discipline and Perseverance: Mastering an instrument requires practice and dedication, instilling valuable life skills like discipline, patience, and goal-setting.

4. Social Connections: Engaging in music often leads to opportunities for social interaction, whether through group lessons, ensembles, or performances, fostering teamwork and friendships.

5. Sense of Achievement: Progressing in musical skills brings a sense of accomplishment, boosting self-esteem and confidence as musicians learn to overcome challenges.
