Lunch Clubs
Welcome back to Term 2! Whilst we are still finalising the timetable for our awesome lunch clubs, they have well and truly begun and the children are really enjoying having a few options available to them for play times. Today, the sun was shining for our first dance party of the term. As always, the gardening club remains a firm favourite at second lunch times. Miss N has also had a very keen group of children enjoying this week's Lego Masters challenge of creating Lego ''speed racers''. If you have any Lego (or anything else) that you are able to donate, we will glady accept it!
Happy Families
We hope that you enjoyed the articles we shared last term. We begin this term with two very interesting reads ''The Habits of Happy Families" and "Protecting Childhood". The first piece identifies 7 key principles to make a happy family. The other article discusses the balance between free, unstructured play time at home versus the multiple after-school activities that many of us feel obliged to provide for our children.
If you would like to provide some feedback please email your thoughts to: admin@safranksth.catholic.edu.au
Insight Articles
Please remember, Insights are released once a week during the term and we will include them in the school newsletter. The membership also allows parents and staff to access all of the previous 300+ Insights articles. To do so at any time, use the below URL and password.

WE’RE TAKING IT IN OUR STRIDE ON FRIDAY, 16 MAY 2025
Well it’s that time of year again when our school seriously starts talking about walking! Walk Safely to School Day asks that we all consider our transport habits and try to incorporate more walking as part of a healthy, active way to get around. Although walking all the way to school isn’t realistic for many of us, it’s quite easy to figure out how you can build a walk into your family’s daily routine. You can teach your child the healthy habit of walking more by:
• Walking with them the whole way to school
• If they get the bus or train, walk past your usual stop and get on at the next stop
• If you have to drive, park the car a few blocks away from the school and walk the rest of the way.
Regular exercise, like walking with your child, not only helps them (and you!) beat chronic problems like obesity, heart disease, behavioural and mental health issues and diabetes. It also gives you a great opportunity to teach your child safe ways to behave around roads and traffic. Remember, Active Kids are Healthy Kids so get planning your own Walk Safely to School Day journey for Friday 16 MAY 2025!

We would love to have you join us at St A's - would you like to help out?
As the school year begins, it's a great time to find out how you can become an active member of our vibrant community at St Augustine's. We always appreciate an extra pair of hands to help across the school for a variety of reasons. This term we will have Cooking & Gardening sessions, a number of sporting events and excursions planned. It would be great if you are able to get involved and take part. If you are keen to join in, please make sure you have a current Working With Children Check.
