VET Pathways & Workplace Learning Update
WEEK 8
Industry & Enterprise - Workplace Learning
Last week, our Year 10 Industry & Enterprise students stepped into the workforce for their first work experience placements, gaining hands-on insights into a variety of industries. From heavy diesel mechanics, fabrication and farming to retail, marine mechanics, carpentry, landscaping, electrical work and auto-electrical trades, the boys explored a diverse range of career pathways.
The feedback from employers was overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting the students’ enthusiasm, ability to follow workplace instructions and initiative in their roles. Their dedication and positive attitudes truly reflected the values of our school.
A huge thank you to the businesses and mentors who generously provided these opportunities—your support is invaluable in shaping the future of our students. Congratulations to all the boys for making the most of this experience!
Year 11 & 12 Workplace Learning
The general studies students should be exploring opportunities for their next placement now and should be returning their workplace learning paperwork to the Careers & VET office as soon as possible. Many employers are already booking students in for Semester 2, so act early to be sure you don’t miss out on your first preference!
Please check your email for the Workplace Learning Parent Document which will answer any questions that you may have.
