Grade 3/4
Grade 3 and 4 students have been working on their Sandrine Pelissier imaginary flower artworks. Sandrine Pelissier is an artist from France who lives in North Vancouver, Canada. She paints trees, flowers, and people, then adds interesting patterns on top Students used oil pastels to blend colours on the paper. They then used scratch paint to paint the negative space around the flowers, leaving interesting and textures for the subject of their work. Next week they will be painting on details and scratching in patterns on their work. They are looking forward to sharing their art when it is complete.
Grade 5
Grade 5 students have been busy creating a cover page for books they are creating in Writing based on Magic Beach by Alison Lester. In this project students used watercolours to create a translucent effect giving their drawings a soft appearance. Next week students will be adding coloured pencil details over the top to finish.
Grade 6
In celebration of Harmony Day the Grade 6 students created art inspired by young British artist, Doodle Boy. Using fine liners and permanent markers they drew symbols, characters and doodles covering every inch of their page. Students enjoyed the creative process and found it very relaxing.
