Year 3 News

Harmony Week

In Week 8, we celebrated Harmony Week at school. It was a beautiful way to share and celebrate the different cultures, languages and traditions we have in our cohort. Students in year 3 were able to share stories, customs, traditions and languages with their peers. Students across the school came dressed in cultural clothing to celebrate our diversity and different backgrounds.

Riddle me this.....

Maths

This week we have been learning all about 2D shapes and 3D objects. We learnt about sides, faces, edges, vertices, lines of symmetry and more! We have practiced drawing 3D shapes using isometric paper, we found shapes around the school on a shape hunt and even wrote shape riddles!

Try to solve the riddles below, good luck…

Adeline 3B

I am 2D, I have 4 corners, my angles are not right, I have 2 sets of parallel lines, what am I?

Deya 3B

I am 2D, I have 1 face and 1 edge, what am i?

Lines of symmetry

3E had a lot of fun learning about three-dimensional shapes. We learned that 3D shapes have faces, edges, and vertices. We also discovered that symmetry is a mirror image of the other half. Can you see our lines of symmetry?
