Year 6 Assembly

Exploring the Power of Language through Bridge to Terabithia

On Friday 28 March our Year 6 students captivated the audience during their assembly, where they delved into the timeless story of Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson.

The assembly was cantered around the exploration of how language features in literature can deeply enrich our reading experience and learning journey. Through thoughtful book reviews and creative presentations, our students unpacked the powerful ways in which descriptive language, acceptance, and emotional expression in Bridge to Terabithia bring its characters and themes to life.

It was inspiring to see the students express how such literary techniques not only deepen their understanding of the text but also enhance their own writing skills. Their presentations reminded us all of the magic of language and how it can transport us to imaginative worlds like Terabithia while teaching us important life lessons.
