TERM 1 WEEK 10 2025
As Term 1 quickly draws to a close, we reflect on a fantastic start to 2025! It's been a busy and productive term, and we’ve been impressed with the students' engagement and enthusiasm. With the recent changes in weather, we also want to gently remind everyone about the importance of wearing our full school uniform (please see further information below about our updated requirements). The Uniform Shop is open on Wednesdays after school if you need any items.
Building Success Through "Aiming High Expectations"
At LNPS, our commitment to setting students up for success remains strong. This year, we've continued to build upon our "Aiming High Expectations" approach, which focuses on clear behavioural expectations and cultivating our core school values.
We're not simply telling students what to do; we're actively teaching them why these values matter. We're providing age-appropriate explanations and creating opportunities for students to practice these values in real-life situations.
We firmly believe that "practice makes permanent." By fostering good behaviour as a habit, we reduce the cognitive load of making positive choices and empower our students to become independent learners.
While we understand that developing strong habits takes time and we may not see the full impact immediately, we're confident that this approach will equip our students with the essential skills to become lifelong learners and responsible, well-rounded individuals.
Thank you for partnering with us in this important aspect.
Thank you to the families who have taken the time to participate in Term 1 Learning Conferences. Our success criteria for conferences were to:
Supporting families to know more about what their child should know and be able to do in relation to identified Learner Qualities, English and Mathematics
Sharing of learning at home and knowledge about their child
Discussion of strategies on how to support their child at home with goals
We are excited to announce that the Community Night video from 2024 is now complete and available for viewing. This video captures the wonderful moments and highlights from the event, showcasing the vibrant spirit of our school community. Parents and families can watch the video on our school's YouTube channel. We hope you enjoy reliving our amazing dance moves on the big stage. Thank you for your continued support!

Lockleys North Primary School students take pride in their personal presentation, as a way of supporting each other to develop a strong sense of identity and community. The LNPS uniform is an integral part of the LNPS identity and contributes to a strong sense of belonging and community spirit.
Our students are ambassadors of our schools and therefore need to be mindful of enhancing its reputation. As such, whenever the school uniform is worn, it should be worn in its entirety, and worn in accordance with these requirements.
The Governing Council has recently ratified our updated Uniform Policy, with a stronger emphasis on personal presentation and clarity around our formal uniform requirements.
As part of this update, a clear process will be followed if there are occasions where the uniform requirements aren’t being me.
There is a clear process for addressing breaches of the policy:
The updated policy will be fully implemented from the start of Term 2, giving everyone time to familiarise themselves with the expectations.
We encourage families to take the time to read through the updated policy and support us in promoting pride in personal presentation across our school community.
We will continue to work in partnership with families to support students in meeting these expectations, and offer assistance wherever needed to help families meet the uniform requirements.
