Year 12 Physics

Electric Motors, they are everywhere! From blenders to electric cars, to handheld power tools. Yr.12 Physics built working models of DC Motors that when connected to the power supply spin, and spin fast! All students were successful in building the motors. Some students completed the challenge in record time and others struggled only to be helped by other students to make their motor work. The best part of the lesson was seeing the expression of sheer Edison style delight when their motors began to spin."

Year 11 Biology

Recently Yr.11 Biology got busy with the $20 Fluid Mosaic Model Challenge. Each group was given $20 and tasked with the challenge of purchasing materials from shops in town to be used to build a model of the cell membrane. They embraced the challenge and used a variety of materials to build their dioramas. The building lessons were organised chaos, with hot glue and building materials everywhere and plenty of laughs and discussions. All groups successfully built their models and the highlight for me was watching them all work together to complete the challenge."
