Principals Report

Dear Parents, Students, and Staff,
As we approach the end of Term 1, I’m proud of the progress and achievements our school community has made. It’s inspiring to see our students grow academically and personally as they embrace new challenges and opportunities.
This month, we've seen impressive accomplishments both in the classroom and through extracurricular activities. I want to thank our dedicated teachers and staff for their hard work in creating an environment where our students can thrive.
We’ve seen amazing achievements in the sporting arena, with a large number of students excelling in their chosen fields and representing the school with pride. A huge thank you to the PD/H/PE staff and all coaching staff for their dedication and support in helping our students reach their full potential.
As we move toward the winter months, we would like to remind all students and parents of the importance of adhering to the school uniform policy. If any student requires support with uniform items as the weather changes, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office. We are here to assist and ensure all students are appropriately prepared for the cooler weather.
Looking ahead, we are excited about the upcoming events and initiatives designed to enhance the educational experience for all students. We encourage families to stay engaged, whether by attending events or keeping up with your child’s progress.
A reminder that Parent-Teacher Interviews will be held on April 2nd. This is a great opportunity to discuss your child’s progress. Bookings can be made through the Sentral Portal, and if you need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact the school.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents who respond promptly to absence or late arrival notices. Your cooperation helps us accurately record absences and maintain a safe and organised school environment.
On April 1st, Glen Innes High will be hosting students from other schools for a Drama Workshop. This presents a fantastic opportunity for students to collaborate, learn, and enhance their drama skills. A big thank you to Miss Bartlett for organising this event.
Additionally, next week, the Year 12 Advanced English excursion to Sydney will offer invaluable real-world experience, allowing students to deepen their understanding of Richard III in an engaging and interactive way.
We’d also like to thank Mrs Moor and the Student Representative Council (SRC) for organising the fantastic Year 7 Welcome Social. Their hard work made it a memorable and enjoyable event for all. Thank you to all staff who gave up their time to supervise on the night, it was truly appreciated by all in attendance.
It has come to my attention that some students are not meeting the school's CARE expectations for behaviour. If students do not meet the expectations, please expect to receive an email or call from your student's teachers. We appreciate the support that parents and caregivers provide to the school as we strive as a team to achieve the best educational outcomes for all our students.
Please be reminded that if a student is not meeting the expected behaviour standards, they are unable to attend extracurricular activities. We encourage all students to maintain a positive and respectful approach to their behaviour to fully participate in all school activities.
Thank you for your continued support in helping our school be a place where every student can succeed. Together, we are building a strong foundation for a bright future.
