School Uniform

A reminder that tracksuit pants are not a part of the official SMPS uniform. Students are required to wear navy pants when not in sports uniform. Tracksuit pants are not to be worn under the summer/winter uniform. If your child is cold at school, they can wear tights or long navy pants. Please ensure your child is not wearing tights under the PE uniform. If cold, your child can wear long pants.

iPad charging

We have had an increase of students bringing their iPads to school without any charge. This impacts your child's learning as they may miss out on activities on the iPad. Please charge your child's iPad every night and ensure it is at 100% when coming to school.

Dates to Remember:

myON sound

The Year 1s began to learn and use myON this year. The students will be able to access this reading library in all future year levels. myON has a sound function where students can listen to books being read aloud to them. As the Year 1s were new to the program and learning how to use it, we kept the sound on. We will be turning the sound off from Monday - Friday to encourage the students to read the books. The sound (read aloud) function will remain on for the weekends if the students would like to listen to book being read aloud.

Year 2

Reminders:

It has been lovely to see so many faces on our Mathseeds posters each week. This means that your child is applying their learning from school. Thank you for your support in instilling a strong homework routine for your child.

The expectation is 1 lesson of Mathseeds completed a week (Sunday - Saturday). Please remember that Sunday starts the new week.

The other homework expectation is reading 4 nights for 15 minutes. This is to be written in your child's diary and signed. Diaries should come to school every day.

Please support your child to bring in a shoe box or a box of a similar size to school. This will be used to create their box rainforests in Humanities. Your child's box will need to be at school by Thursday the 5th of June.
