Middle Years and Youth Services - What's on for Kids in our Local Area?

Skinners Adventure Playground:

Please note that Skinners is a separate organisation to SMPS. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to Skinners directly.

Skinners offer outdoor play opportunities and an element of risky play in a fun, inclusive and natural environment. We provide supervised programs to Adventure Playground members aged 5 to 12 years, and the playground is also open to children and families.

Memberships are available for young people aged 5 to 12 years who live in the City of Port Phillip and would benefit from the playground’s programs.

If you would like to become a member, please contact us or visit the Playground during open hours to speak with a staff member.

Opening Hours:

  • Open from 3.30 to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday
  • Open from 12 midday to 4.30 pm on weekends
  • Closed on public holidays

Members of the playground are offered the following programs:

  • Breakfast club: 7.30 to 8.25 am Monday to Friday.
  • Boys Group: 5.30 to 7 pm on Wednesday.
  • Girls Group: 5.30 to 7 pm on Thursdays.

Arts Bus

The artsbus is a mobile arts studio, theatre and music space, enabling AKC to facilitate meaningful, thoughtful and therapeutic arts activities. It brings quality arts practices to children who would otherwise miss out.

The Arts Bus is a weekly program hosted by Artist for Kids Culture for primary school aged children at Park Towers.  This regular program connects kids with artists and offers ongoing opportunities to collaborate on group projects. The South Melbourne artsbus is supported by The City of Port Phillip.
