What's on in Foundation

Teddy Bear Picnic

Foundation students have had a wonderful time exploring everything related to "BEAR." We enjoyed reading teddy bear stories and writing descriptive sentences about our teddy bears using plenty of adjectives.

Our Maths sessions were also taken over by bears! We measured our teddy bears with informal units like counters and links and created a graph about all the different coloured bears! Going on a Bear Hunt was an exciting adventure too! We listened to the story, created a 3D map of the story and used puppets to act it out.

On Wednesday afternoon, we were bear-y excited for our Teddy Bear’s Picnic. The weather was perfect, and we spread picnic rugs across the grass. It was lovely to spend time on the oval with our families, enjoying a special afternoon snack and dancing with our teddy bears.

A big thank you to all the Mums, Dads, and special visitors who joined us at school!

Maths Afternoon

What better way to end the week than with a Maths Afternoon!

In Foundation, we absolutely love learning about maths in so many exciting and hands-on ways. We play games that make counting and number recognition fun and interactive. We also use play dough and blocks to explore measuring, allowing us to see and feel the concepts we’re learning about. Playing cards are another favourite tool, helping us practice comparing and ordering numbers while enjoying a little friendly competition.

The best part was sharing all the fun things we've been learning with our families! It was wonderful to see everyone involved, working together to solve problems, play games, and discover the magic of maths.

We can’t wait to keep exploring maths in even more exciting ways!
