TERM 1 2025 - ART AWARDS
GRADE 5
In term 1, Grade 5 Art students studied the work of Henri Matisse and used various watercolour techniques to create a ‘leaf collage.’ Congratulations to Lulu for the way in which she executed the skills and knowledge learned in her final project assessment task. A special mention to Josh and Hudson who also created well balanced, aesthetically pleasing compositions.

GRADE 6
In term 1, Grade 6 Art students explored colour theory. Inspired by the pencil work of artist CJ Hendry and Jasper Johns knowledge of positive and negative space, students learnt how to use the visual elements of space, colour, line and value in new ways. Students have built on their tonal drawing skills from last year to demonstrate how blending-coloured pencils can be used in art to create temperature, showing tonal value. This task gave students the opportunity to reflect on the aesthetics of their work and what is most pleasing to them. Congratulations to Miley who challenged her skills with the complexity of her positive and negative working spaces. Special mention to Shay and Lilah for the reflective thought given to add a third layer keeping the work authentically their own with the inclusion of a monochromatic background and plain white.
