Celebration of Learning

At the end of Term 2, our school community came together for our Celebration of Learning - a wonderful opportunity for families to step into classrooms and experience the learning, growth and achievements of our students throughout Semester 1.

Rather than simply displaying finished pieces of work, students proudly shared their learning journeys. They spoke with confidence about the knowledge they had gained, the challenges they had overcome and the progress they had made across a range of learning areas, including English, Mathematics, Religious Education, Science, Humanities and the Arts. It was wonderful to see students explaining their thinking and reflecting on how their learning has developed over time.

A particular highlight was the learning showcased by our Grade 5/6 students in Religious Education. As part of their exploration of the Second Vatican Council (Vatican II), students investigated how this significant event transformed the Catholic Church and continues to shape the way we gather and worship today. Through detailed models, research and presentations, they explained how church architecture evolved to better reflect the four ways Catholics encounter Christ during Mass - through the priest, the gathered community, the Word and the Eucharist. Their ability to connect history, faith and contemporary Church life demonstrated both deep understanding and thoughtful reflection.

Most importantly, the morning celebrated the strong partnership between home and school. Seeing families engaged in conversations with their children, asking questions and celebrating their successes reinforced the importance of learning as a shared journey. The pride on our students' faces as they welcomed loved ones into their classrooms was a reminder that authentic audiences make learning even more meaningful.

Thank you to all of our families who joined us for this special event. Your ongoing support and encouragement play an important role in your child's learning, and we are grateful to share these moments of growth and achievement with you.
