Canberra Visit

Our Year 6 students recently participated in a highly engaging three-day Canberra Excursion as part of their Rights and Responsibilities unit. This immersive experience provided valuable opportunities to deepen their understanding of Australia’s democratic processes and national identity. Highlights included visits to key national institutions such as Parliament House, the Australian War Memorial, Questacon, and the Museum of Australian Democracy, where students were able to connect their classroom learning with real-world contexts.

Across the three days, students demonstrated exceptional independence, curiosity, and a strong sense of teamwork. We are incredibly proud of the maturity and respect they displayed, as well as the enthusiasm with which they approached each experience. Their conduct was exemplary, and they represented the Junior School community with pride, making the excursion both memorable and highly rewarding for all involved.

Round Square Service Learning – Ronald McDonald House

Year 6 students engaged in a meaningful Round Square Service-Learning project this term, demonstrating compassion and leadership through purposeful action within the local community. Guided by student voice, the cohort chose to support Ronald McDonald House Orange, deepening their understanding of the needs of families across the Central West.

Working in Houses, students collaborated to design and deliver practical contributions, including meals and creative support packs for children and families requiring extended care. A group of Brown House students, working alongside Mrs Church, prepared and cooked 100 meals, providing both nourishment and comfort during challenging times.

The project culminated in a Service-Learning Chapel, where students proudly shared their contributions and reflected on the impact of collective action.

SRC Pyjama Day

On Tuesday, our P–6 students and staff enjoyed a joyful SRC Pyjama Day, bringing wonderful energy and community spirit to the final weeks of term. Students embraced the opportunity to come dressed in their winter woollies while generously contributing a gold coin donation.

We extend our sincere thanks to our students, families and staff for their enthusiastic support. All funds raised will be directed towards re-marking our playground, particularly our much-loved handball courts. A special thank you to our SRC for their leadership in creating such a fun and meaningful initiative that brought our school community together.

Semester 1 Reports

As we come to the end of Term 2, it is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the rich and diverse learning experiences our students have enjoyed. Across classrooms, teachers have thoughtfully designed engaging and challenging opportunities that cater to the strengths and interests of every learner.

Families have received regular feedback in a variety of ways, and this week your child’s Semester 1 Report will be made available. This report provides a snapshot of your child’s achievement at this point in time, celebrating progress while also offering clear guidance to support continued growth.

Reports will be available via the Hub by the close of the working day on Friday, 26 June.

As the Term Draws to a Close

This term has been rich with diverse learning experiences, from excursions and classroom initiatives to sporting and creative opportunities. It has been a busy and highly rewarding time for our students and families.

As we approach the holiday break, we wish all families a restful and enjoyable time together. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 3 on Tuesday, 21 July 2026.
