Hockey 

Kinross Wolaroi hockey players continue to enjoy representative success. Recently, a number of students represented Orange at the NSW State U16 and U18 Hockey Championships. Special congratulations to Abbie Lyons (Year 12), who was selected for the NSW Pathways and Performance Squad following the U18 Championships - an outstanding achievement. 

Our teams are also enjoying a successful local competition, with several teams currently sitting in semi-final positions. Congratulations to 14 White, 14 Blue, 16 Navy, 18 Lightning and the 1sts Women's teams on their excellent performances so far this season. 

A reminder to all parents that students must be collected promptly at the conclusion of their match. If you are not staying to watch the game, please ensure you arrive at the Orange Hockey Centre before the match finishes, as students are not to be left unsupervised after games. 

With the colder weather here, please ensure players are dressed appropriately for training and matches. 

Training: KWS trackpants, KWS hoodie, KWS training top, KWS polo, House shirt, KWS leggings, KWS shorts or KWS skort may be worn. Please note that school jumpers and blazers are not to be worn with the sports uniform. 

Matches: The full KWS hockey uniform must be worn to every match. A plain navy or white long-sleeved base layer may be worn underneath the hockey shirt. The KWS Uniform Shop also has the new KWS Base Layer in stock, which is a great option for staying warm while maintaining the correct uniform.

Gymnastics

The Christian Schools Sports Association (CSSA) State Gymnastics Championships is an annual event showcasing Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) talent from across the state. The 2026 Championships were held on 17 June at the Sydney Gymnastics Centre in Rooty Hill.

Kinross Wolaroi School was proudly represented by two students, both of whom delivered strong performances across all apparatus. Congratulations to both girls on their outstanding achievements:

• Mya M (Year 8) – 1st Floor, 3rd Beam, and 4th Overall

• Matilda T (Year 10) – 3rd Floor, 4th Vault, and 6th Overall

Well done, Mya and Matilda, on representing Kinross Wolaroi School with skill, determination, and sportsmanship.

Rowing

Last Thursday, Rowing NSW hosted its Annual Awards Night, where Kinross Wolaroi School was recognised with three finalist nominations and an outstanding clean sweep of all three categories.

• NSW Schoolgirl Coaches of the Year – Richard Roach and Emma Fessey
• NSW Junior Coxswain of the Year – Jane Bruce
• NSW Novice of the Year – Andie Zinga

• We also extend our congratulations to Kinross Wolaroi alumnus Alec Hoskin (2022) on being awarded NSW Oarsman of the Year.

   

Congratulations to all award recipients on their exceptional achievements and contributions to a successful rowing season.
