Year 1

We have had a very busy time in Year 1 over the past two weeks. Our students have participated with great enthusiasm in Mission Week activities as well as NAIDOC events.

We have continued to work on addition and subtraction and have LOVED learning all about our fact families. We encourage families to be asking mathematical questions in everyday activities. There are so many opportunities to show our children how we use maths in our day-to-day lives.  For example, when setting the table count up how many forks plus knives plus spoons etc, talk to them about prices of items if you’re in the shops, share what you’re doing on the farm etc.
