Welcome to Term 4 in Physical Education!
It’s an exciting final term of PE at Ripponlea Primary School, filled with teamwork, energy, and collaboration across all year levels!
Our Foundation and Year 1–2 students have kicked off the term by refining their basketball skills — dribbling, passing, shooting, and moving safely in space. These lessons are building confidence and control before we move into other team-based games later in the term that celebrate our school values of collaboration and community.
In Year 3–4, students are exploring the fundamental rules, positions, and movements of netball. They’re learning to pivot, pass, and defend with fairness and focus, developing strong game sense and communication skills as they prepare for more structured gameplay.
Our Year 5–6 students have started Term 4 with a bang — competing in a Netball Tournament that’s brought out their teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship. As we move through the term, the senior students are also beginning their final round of Interschool Sport, representing Ripponlea in Rounders, Handball, Touch Rugby, and Softcrosse.
We’re so proud of their enthusiasm and leadership as they finish their primary school sporting journey on a high note!

Welcome back to Term 4.
I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable break. It is wonderful to see many happy faces returning to Japanese class!
Although this is the first year Ripponlea students are learning Japanese, they have already made impressive progress. - singing songs, writing words in hiragana, and beginning to communicate in the language. I am truly impressed with their enthusiasm and growth. It is a joy to teach them.
Term 3 concluded with a fantastic celebration on Japan Day.
Students enjoyed a variety of activities, including a Kendo demonstration, a
Japanese themed quiz, a manga drawing workshop, Kendama Japanese toy tournament, and a Taiko concert with Caulfield Primary School teachers and students.
It was heartwarming to see many students dressed in Japanese-inspired outfits. A big thank you to all the parents and guardians who helped support their children in dressing up and bringing something Japanese.
Finally, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to all staff members who supported Japan Day. It would not have been possible without your help.
