As per previous years, with the Massie Art Show being an official school occasion, we ask that students attend this event in their Kambala summer uniform. This request also extends to any Kambala siblings who may wish to attend.
Students participating in Extra-Curricular activities that afternoon are asked to bring their school uniform to change into prior to the commencement of the Massie Art Show.

Ingrid Holden Cup Public Speaking
In honour of Mrs Ingrid Holden, a former Deputy Head of Junior School at Kambala,
we will hold our Ingrid Holden Cup public speaking finals this term. Our Years
3 - 6 students have been developing their persuasive writing skills in class by writing
both prepared and impromptu speeches on a variety of topics. Their public speaking
skills have been enhanced by considering posture, eye contact, gestures and the
5Ps for voice: projection, pace, pausing, pitch and pronunciation.
The girls have been assessed on their Manner, Matter and Method when presenting two prepared and one impromptu speech to their class. Two finalists from each class have been selected to speak at the Final, where they will be given an impromptu topic and only 20 minutes to prepare a speech, then perform in front of the audience.
The Finals will take place on the following dates:
- Stage 3: Thursday 30 October 2025
- Stage 2: Tuesday 28 October 2025
Parents of the finalists have been invited to attend the Final. We are very proud of all of our girls for their impressive speeches, demonstrating how they can communicate with purpose.

Massie Recital - Thursday 30 October 2025 - 7.30am - Music Performance Theatre
The second Massie Recital of 2025 will be held on Thursday 30 October at 7:30am, featuring performances from Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 students who are currently enrolled in private music lessons at school.
Date: Thursday 30 October 2025
Time: 7:30am (performing students to arrive by 7:15am)
Venue: Music Centre Performance Theatre, Kambala
Dress: Full school uniform
The recital provides a valuable opportunity for our young musicians to showcase their progress and gain performance experience in a supportive environment.
Test and Quest Day Information for Current Year 6 Parents and Students - Friday 31 October, 2025
We are very much looking forward to your daughter joining Year 7 in 2026.
In preparation for her commencement, all Year 6 students will participate in our Test and Quest Day on Friday 31 October 2025 at Kambala.
Test and Quest is a compulsory annual event for all students entering Year 7. It is an informative day, filled with fun orientation activities, designed to bring our current students and new students together, in preparation for their senior years.
In addition to the activities, there is also an assessment component conducted in the morning. This testing covers English, Mathematics and General Ability categories. Please reassure your daughter this is not an entrance exam; every Year 7 starter (current and new) sits these tests, and they are designed to assist with appropriate staffing levels for 2026.
Please note the following times and details for Friday 31 October 2025:
8.15am Students and Parents/Carers
Students and parents are asked to enter the school at either the Tivoli Avenue Gate 1 or the New South Head Road Gate 4. Current Kambala students will be stationed at the gates for your arrival to assist with directions to Tivoli Courtyard.
There is no car parking available onsite.
Students are to arrive in their Kambala sports uniform and bring a sports hat, drink bottle, a pencil and 2 black or blue pens in a small bag.
8.30am Students
Students will be directed to the Alexander Hall for the testing component of the day.
8.30am - 9.30 am Parents/Carers
Parents are invited to the Tivoli forecourt for refreshments, followed by a presentation by key staff.
Tours of the senior school will be available at the conclusion of the presentation.
10.30am Students
Break for morning tea, which will be provided.
12.30pm Students
Break for lunch, which will be provided - CLICK HERE to advise any dietary requirements or medical conditions (those requirements will also be applicable for morning tea)
1.30pm Students
After lunch the girls will take part in the “quest” component of the day, which includes entertaining and bonding activities, touring of the senior school and meeting senior school teaching staff. These activities are conducted in House groups.
3.20pm Students and Parents/Carers
Test and Quest Day concludes.
Girls may be collected as usual from the Tivoli carline or proceed to their usual extra-curricular afternoon activities.

Further onboarding information - January 2026
Your daughter will engage with her new classmates for an induction session on Thursday 29 January 2026. Classes commence for all students on Friday 30 January 2026.
Detailed information regarding the commencement of the 2026 school year will be published on Sundial in term 4.
Orientations for Massie, Year 3 and Year 5, 2026
Year 2 into Year 3, 2026 Orientation - Monday 3 November, 2025
We welcome our new girls to Kambala for Year 3, 2026 for their orientation. In the morning existing Year 2 and new Year 2 into Year 3 students will sit educational assessments conducted by Academic Assessment Services. This gives the school valuable insight into the learning profiles of existing and new students. On this morning girls will be placed into two flower named class groups which DO NOT reflect their 2026 classes in any manner.
The girls will sit these assessments in classrooms in the EJ Watt building. The best preparation for these assessments will be a good night’s sleep, healthy breakfast and an on time school arrival. In the afternoon the girls will enjoy some taster lessons in the EJ Watt building to further aid the transition.
Massie House Orientation for new Preparation to Year 2, 2026 Students - Wednesday 5 November, 2025
On Wednesday morning 5 November 2025 we welcome the Preparation starters for 2026 to Massie House. We will also welcome the sprinkling of new students who will be joining us in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 for 2026.
Students on this day will also engage in a one up day and have a mini taste of their life in their new year groups for 2026.

Year 6 Camp Somerset - Monday 3 - Thursday 6 November 2025

This morning recital offers a wonderful opportunity for Year 3 students to perform in a warm and supportive environment that fosters musical confidence, presentation skills, and concert etiquette. Jam on Toast Preparation Music Incursion - Thursday 13 November 2025
Get ready to sing, move, and groove! On Thursday 13 November, Preparation students will enjoy a fun and interactive music incursion with Jamie from Jam on Toast. This engaging session encourages creativity and movement through music – a fantastic way to learn and have fun at the same time!
Kambala Extra Curricular Dance Concert - Saturday 22 November 2025 - Alexander Hall
Due to limited seating, each student is allocated a maximum of 2 tickets. Performing students will NOT be required to obtain a ticket, however, siblings not performing will require a ticket.
Any child under the age of 2 years old will not need a ticket.
If you require additional tickets, any remaining seats will be released on a first-come, first-served basis on Wednesday 5th November at 10:00 am. Allocated ticket bookings will close on Tuesday 4th November at 8:00 pm.
For Year 6 parents, please note that due to limited seating, you will only be allocated tickets to the afternoon (3:00 pm) show, unless you also have a daughter performing in the morning show. Both shows will feature the same Year 6 routines, and this arrangement ensures all families are able to attend.

Kindergarten Christmas Concert - Wednesday 3 December 2025 - Music Performance Theatre
Year 2 Mini Swim Meet - Wednesday 3 December 2025 - Kambala Playfair Pool
Year 2 will participate in a Mini Swimming Meet in the Kambala pool.
The Year 2 Mini Swimming Meet is a student only event and will take place from
12.00 - 1.00pm and normal lessons will resume afterwards.
Students should wear their swimming costume rolled down under their sports uniform. They will need a towel, swimming cap, goggles and thongs to wear to and from the pool.
Every girl will have the opportunity to participate in three races (freestyle, backstroke and
breaststroke) with the focus of this event being about effort, participation and personal best.
If your daughter is unable to attend due to illness, please contact the school in the normal
manner before 7.30am.
We look forward to sharing this experience with your daughter.

Kambala Speech Day for Year 3 - Year 12 - Wednesday 10 December 2025 - 11.00am - 1.00pm - State Theatre, Sydney
Year 3 to Year 12 Speech Day will be held again this year at the State Theatre in Market Street, Sydney.
It is an expectation that all girls in Years 3 - 12 attend in full school uniform with a parent/s to hear the address and support students who will receive prizes.
A Speech Day official invitation will be sent in coming weeks from the school for Year 3 to Year 12 parents.
Massie House sisters who attend Speech Day will need to attend in their school uniform.
SAVE THE DATE - MASSIE HOUSE
The final day of school for girls in Massie House will be Tuesday 9 December, 2025 (normal dismissal times apply).
Year 2 Merit Assembly will be held on Friday 5 December, 2025 from 9.00 - 10.30am in the Music Performance Theatre at Kambala. Parents of girls in Year 2 are warmly invited to attend.
2027 Kambala Scholarships
Applications are welcomed from girls currently enrolled at Kambala or attending other schools.
Registrations for the Year 7 music scholarship and remote or overseas online examinations close on Friday 6 February 2026.
Registrations for all other scholarships close on Wednesday 11 February 2026.
2027 scholarship examinations (including music scholarship auditions) will be held on Saturday 21 February 2026.

Vaucluse Electorate Christmas Card Art Competition
We are excited to share that local Member for Vaucluse, Kellie Sloane MP, is once again inviting students to take part in her annual Christmas Card Competition!
This is a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their creativity and have their artwork shared with the wider community.

- Theme: “My Favourite Part of Christmas”
- Winner: Artwork featured on the front cover of Kellie Sloane’s 2025 Christmas card
- Runners-up: Three designs displayed on the back cover
- Entries due: Monday, 17 November 2025
- Submission: Artwork can be dropped off (9am–5pm, Mon–Fri) or posted to 330 New South Head Road, Double Bay NSW 2028
