Semester 2 Examinations
Examinations provide an important opportunity for students to consolidate and demonstrate their learning through a form of summative, standardised assessment. They also play a crucial role in preparing students for the rigours of future VCE examinations, helping them develop essential skills such as time management, revision strategies, and independent study habits.
Examination Dates: Refer to Compass to view your child’s individual exam schedule
- Years 7–9: Week 7 (Monday 17th – Thursday 20th November) – Examinations will be conducted during regular class times.
- Year 10 Standard students: Week 6-7 (Friday 14th – Thursday 20th November) – No scheduled classes; students attend school for examinations only.
- Year 10 Applied students: Week 7 (Wednesday 19th – Thursday 20th November) – No scheduled classes; students attend school for examinations only.

Parent Support and Preparation Tips: Parents play a vital role in supporting their child's success during examination time. We encourage parents to:
- Help students allocate dedicated time for revision and study each day.
- Provide a quiet, organised, and distraction-free space for study at home.
Monitor for signs of stress and encourage healthy routines, including regular breaks, good sleep, nutrition, and exercise.
Assessment Feedback and Reporting: Students will receive feedback on their examination performance on their Semester 2 Reports, which will be available on Compass at the end of Term 4.
Important Reminders:
- The College’s Examination Policy is available on the school website and outlines expectations and procedures in more detail.
We strongly encourage families to avoid scheduling medical appointments, family holidays, or other planned absences during the examination period to ensure students can complete all assessments as scheduled.
We are proud of the effort and resilience our students show during this important period. We thank all families for their ongoing support and wish our students every success as they prepare for their examinations.
Headstart Program
Headstart marks the official beginning of the 2026 school year, giving students a valuable opportunity to connect with their new teachers, establish class routines, and begin preparing for the learning year ahead.
The College Headstart program will run from Monday 24th November to Friday 5th December for Year 11 and 12 students, and will continue until Tuesday 9th December for students in Years 8–10.
During Headstart, students will receive holiday homework to complete before returning to school in 2026. We encourage families to actively support their child in completing this work to ensure a confident start to the new year.
For our VCE students, Week 2 of the 2026 school year will include a Verification Assessment Task that assesses key knowledge, skills, and readiness for the demands of the VCE program.
The Headstart Program is a vital step in setting students up for success in 2026 — we look forward to seeing all students engage fully and make the most of this opportunity.
