Campus Principal Report

As we race towards the end of another successful school year, the College community has come together to celebrate and farewell our 2025 Year 12 students. Our celebration day was filled with colour, laughter, and creativity as students and staff embraced the spirit of the occasion, donning an impressive array of fancy-dress costumes. It was a wonderful opportunity for our graduating students to share memories, express their individuality, and enjoy one final day of fun and connection with their peers and teachers before stepping into the next chapter of their lives. We wish all of our graduating students every success as they move beyond Keysborough College. Whether they are heading into further study, apprenticeships, employment, or taking a well-earned gap year, we are immensely proud of their growth, resilience, and the contributions they have made to our school community.

Our Graduation Night is always a highlight of the year, a truly memorable occasion held at the Robert Blackwood Hall at Monash University. The event was a resounding success, with every seat filled by proud parents, family members, and staff who came together to celebrate the achievements of our students. Each successful Year 12 graduate had their moment of recognition, walking across the stage to receive their certificate and a congratulatory handshake from Mr. Sykes. The evening was a fitting tribute to the hard work, perseverance, and accomplishments of the Class of 2025.

In addition to these milestones, our Year 9 City Experience was another highlight of the term, showcasing the maturity, enthusiasm, and cooperation of students from each campus. Throughout the week, students navigated Melbourne’s landmarks, cultural sites, and public spaces with curiosity and respect. Staff were particularly impressed with the exemplary behaviour, teamwork, and positive attitude displayed by all students, who represented Keysborough College with pride. The experience not only built independence and confidence but also deepened students’ understanding of the diverse opportunities available beyond the school environment. Even train delays and some ordinary weather did not dampen the year 9 spirit.

Another standout event this term was the Art and Technology Showcase, held at both campuses. The exhibitions provided an inspiring glimpse into the creativity, innovation, and technical skill of our students. From intricate design projects and digital artworks to sculptures, textiles, and multimedia displays, the quality of work on show was truly outstanding. The showcase not only celebrated individual achievement but also highlighted the importance of creativity and design thinking within our curriculum. Families, staff, and community members who attended were deeply impressed by the standard of work and the passion our students demonstrated for their chosen disciplines.

While our Year 12 students complete their final exams and prepare to embark on new adventures, the remainder of the College has been focused on wrapping up assessments and preparing for upcoming exams. Students across all other year levels are finalising their Common Assessment Tasks (CATs) and required coursework as they approach their own exam period.

Please note that students are not required at school on Friday, November 21st, as this day will be used for staff preparation as we transition toward the Headstart program, which begins on November 24th.  All students will be in their 2026 classes. Headstart marks the beginning of the 2026 academic year, giving students the opportunity to commence their new subjects and become familiar with expectations and learning goals well before Term 1. This proactive approach supports a smooth transition and helps students enter the new school year feeling confident and prepared. Students will also be provided with holiday work to consolidate their learning and maintain momentum over the summer break. By engaging with these materials, students will ensure a strong and successful start when classes resume in February 2026.

As we celebrate the achievements of our graduating class and look ahead to another exciting year of learning, we extend our gratitude to students, staff, and families for their ongoing support and commitment to the Keysborough College community.
