College Principal Report

Approaching the end of another school year is one of my favourite times. It's a chance to celebrate our collective achievements, recognise our students’ growth, and engage deeply with our community through graduation ceremonies, awards evenings, and preparations for the year ahead.

Our community spirit has been on full display in recent weeks. From the laughter and colour of Celebration Day to the pride and poise shown at our Graduation Evening, there has been a tangible sense of optimism about the future. Seeing our Year 12 students finish their journey with confidence, creativity, and gratitude is a powerful reflection of the relationships and opportunities that define our College.

While these milestones capture the spotlight, equally impressive are the moments happening every day across classrooms, workshops and excursions, where curiosity, determination, and collaboration continue to thrive. Whether it’s the inventiveness of our Art and Technology exhibitions, the maturity shown during the Year 9 City Experience, or the purposeful energy already building ahead of Headstart, our students are living examples of our RED values — Respect, Excellence and Diversity. These values underpin all that we do and remind us that while learning is about results, it is just as important about character, contribution, and community.

This year has also brought one of the most significant acknowledgements in our College’s history. For the first time, Keysborough College has been recognised as a high-performing school in the Department’s Annual School Performance Report. This is a remarkable milestone and a testament to the dedication and expertise of our staff, the persistence of our students, and the support of our families. It confirms what we already know  that our focus on strong teaching, consistent practice, and targeted improvement in literacy and numeracy is driving genuine, measurable success. It’s an outstanding result and one we can all be proud of.

As we turn our attention to 2026, we do so with momentum and purpose. Headstart provides a valuable opportunity for students to begin their next stage of learning early. To set goals, build confidence, and continue the journey toward excellence.
