Student Wellbeing

Student Engagement and Connection
As valued members of our St Joseph’s College Echuca community, we focus on the shared responsibility we hold in supporting the holistic development of our young people.
We are deeply committed to nurturing not only the academic growth of our students, but also their emotional wellbeing, personal resilience, and spiritual formation. Programs such as our Learning Mentor Program, including The Resilience Project, alongside our Religious Education lessons and Catholic celebrations, are integral to this mission.
The purpose of these programs extends far beyond the classroom. The Resilience Project equips students with practical strategies to build gratitude, empathy, and mindfulness - skills that are essential for navigating the complexities of modern life. Our Religious Education curriculum and Catholic celebrations provide opportunities for students to explore meaning, values, and faith, while fostering a sense of belonging and connection within our community. Together, these experiences help shape compassionate, grounded, and resilient young people.
When families choose to enrol at St Joseph’s College, there is a shared understanding and agreement to support the ethos, values, and programs of the College. This partnership between home and school is vital. It ensures consistency in expectations and reinforces to students that their formation - academic, emotional, and spiritual - is valued and prioritised.
Thank you for your ongoing support, partnership, and commitment to the values of St Joseph’s College. Together, we can continue to provide a rich and meaningful educational experience for every student.

Year 11 Man Cave & Flourish - Wednesday 29 April
The Man Cave’s Student Workshops are a series of immersive, full day experiences that encourage participants to explore the concept of masculinity and the impacts of outdated societal expectations placed on men, and build healthier relationships with themselves and those around them.
Based on the Rites of Passage framework, the workshops create safe spaces for participants to have real conversations with each other. They include group-building activities, interactive games and healthy discussion on topics such as mental health, relationships and consent.
Our Year 11 boys participated in the Level 1 Workshop, Understanding Self which focuses on self discovery. Through a series of age-appropriate activities and discussions, participants expanded their emotional literacy and understanding the impact of outdated masculine norms on their mental health and interpersonal relationships.
Empowering teenage girls to flourish. The Flourish Journey fosters a generation of empowered, resilient and connected teenage girls who can shape a future where everyone flourishes as their best selves.
Our Year 11 girls participated in the Healthy Relationships workshop which empowers participants to understand healthy relationships, set and communicate personal boundaries and cultivate trust and empathy through meaningful interactions.
Thank you to all Year 11 participants on your willingness to participate, courage to share and openness to being the best version of yourselves.
