James Carroll Presents Research on the International Stage

We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of James Carroll (NWS 2017), who recently presented his research paper as the lead author at a prestigious international neuroscience conference in Barcelona, Spain.

James was a passionate and dedicated Science student during his time at the College, and it is inspiring to see him continuing to excel in his field. His opportunity to present his research on the international stage is a testament to his hard work, commitment to scientific discovery, and pursuit of excellence.

We are incredibly proud to see our alumni making a meaningful impact around the world and contributing to advances in neuroscience. Congratulations, James, on this outstanding achievement. We look forward to following your continued success!

Engagements

Georgia Hutchinson (NWS 2022) & Daylan Ngwenya (NWS 2022)

Georgia Hutchinson and Daylan Ngwenya, who both graduated from NWS campus in 2022, are celebrating an exciting new chapter together. Daylan proposed to Georgia while they were on holiday in Fiji, making for a memorable and special moment. The couple is now looking forward to their wedding in January 2027. 

Congratulations to Georgia and Daylan! May God richly bless you both as you prepare for your wedding day and the wonderful journey of marriage ahead.

Luis Herrera (NWS 2017) & Sarah Glewis (WS 2018)

Congratulations to Luis Herrera (NWS 2017) and Sarah Glewis (WS 2018), who celebrated a beautiful milestone in June 2026 when Luis proposed to Sarah at Wilson Botanic Park in Berwick. Following the proposal, Luis had planned for both of their families to come together and celebrate this special moment, making the day even more memorable.

Luis and Sarah’s story began years ago when they first met in Primary school here at the College. Life took them in different directions, but they were happily reunited later when they both came to work at WCC. Luis now serves as the Secondary Art and Design Teacher at the Narre Warren South Campus, while Sarah is a School Chaplain at the Wantirna South Campus.

Adding an extra touch of nostalgia, the couple also discovered a photo of themselves together in the 2007 Whole School photo at the Wantirna South campus—a wonderful reminder of where their journey first began.

How special that this couple was able to meet and later reconnect in the most wonderful way, right here at the College. We wish Luis and Sarah every happiness as they continue their exciting journey together!

Marriages

Congratulations to Anishtha Chelliah (WS 2019) on her marriage to Sam Yap, on 9th April in the Yarra Valley. They thank God that he held off the thunderstorm and it was a beautiful day celebrating with their family and friends.

Anishtha is not only a former WCC student, she is also on staff at the College as a Primary teacher at our Narre Warren South Campus. We pray for God's abundant blessings over Ani and Sam's marriage and congratulate them on this momentous and joyous occasion.

Births

Congratulations to Stephanie Dunstan (WS 2016) and her husband Lachlan on the birth of their daughter, Harper Dunstan, on 6 March 2026. They are smitten with her! 

Retirement

It is with both gratitude and best wishes that we announce the retirement of Kit Law, who has decided that after 25 years of dedicated service to the College, the time has come to begin a new chapter.

Since joining the College in 2001, Kit has been an integral part of the Finance Team, contributing across a variety of roles including Accounts Receivable, Payroll and most recently as Accounts Officer. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment, making her a highly valued member of the College’s community. Over the last quarter of a century, Kit has witnessed and contributed to the significant growth of the College, and her support has made a lasting impact on both the Finance Team and the College.

Reflecting on her time here, Kit shared “This marks the end of a very fulfilling career, and I’m profoundly appreciative of the opportunities, experiences and relationships I have cultivated during my time here since 2001.”

While the College represents a significant part of her life and she has made many cherished memories, she will be embarking on the next chapter of life-after-work and we look forward to hearing about the adventures and opportunities it brings.   We also hope she will occasionally come and visit or assist as a CRF (“Casual Relief Finance”) member!
