Principal Message

Hello Kildare Community,
As the Term draws to a close it is important for us to reflect, be grateful and to celebrate success around the College. In particular, all the occasions where individuals or the community have embraced our College values of faith, learning, care and justice.
There are countless moments of success everyday. We are all works in progress. We continue to learn and grow throughout our lives. It is important for all of us to continue to strive to be more fully our authentic selves - the best version of ourselves.
Success can look like being a little more patient with siblings, or making an effort to help out around the home. Success can be “not giving up” on a hard maths problem, knowing that you will get it eventually. It can be about improving your focus in the classroom. or improving your active listening skills. Truly listening to others is so important for building strong relationships. Success can be acts of kindness and care, or being an upstander in the playground. Success can be saying what you believe is right even if others may not agree. It can be committing and making a change to improve your study routine. We should all take a moment to think about our own experiences of success this term.
As a College we want to celebrate and acknowledge a range of successes across our College. It is important to celebrate when students go above and beyond. These events, competitions and achievements are a great example of what you can achieve if you work hard, strive for excellence and push yourself out of your comfort zone for the greater good. We should be proud of how much our community has achieved this term including, but not limited to :
Our acknowledgement of Reconciliation Week and representation at the Local Sorry Day event
Our incredible creative arts showcase ‘Primetime’
Our celebration of Harmony Day for Oodgeroo Community Day
Our celebration of Do It for Dolly Day and student consultation to bullying and safety in our school
Students participation in DaVinci Decathlon
KCC Caritas Youth Ambassadors leading faith formation at St Joseph’s primary school
The completion and unveiling of the Yindymarra Mural at Mt Erin Boarding in National Boarding week
Countless sporting team achievements across a range of sports - netball, AFL, League Tag, Rugby, Basketball and Touch
A notable achievement by Andre Labara who has made it into the Australian squad for swimming and will be competing in the Pan Pacific Championship in Vancouver in August
Two students completing the Committee 4 Wagga Wagga Leaders Program, Chloe Barnes and William Kerr
Year 10 participation in the Youth Mental Health Forum
Real Talk sessions for Year 9 on human dignity
And much more.
Today, we held our Year 12 Retreat Reflection Mass in the Mt Erin Chapel. Year 12 were encouraged to reflect on their learnings and growth, as well as what it means to live an abundant life - to be fully alive. It was wonderful to share the Eucharist as a group as we near the end of Term 2.
Next week, we are looking forward to a positive end to term culminating in a much loved King Community Day and Red Faces. We cannot wait to see the talent.
Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday.
